Delray Beach Climate Response: The Time is Now to Act

DELRAY BEACH, Florida—Erin L. Deady, in partnership with the City of Delray Beach, will hold a Climate and Art session on October 1, 2021 from 1:30pm – 2:30pm, to facilitate a community discussion on the immediacy of climate adaptation response and what local governments around the state are doing. 

Titled “Climate Response: The Time is Now to Act,” a discussion on more of our communities in Florida are seeing the physical impacts of climate change with tidal flooding and sea-level rise.  This session will provide an overview of efforts and focus on examples of how local governments are responding.  Monroe County, Florida, also known as the “Fabulous Florida Keys” has neighborhoods inundated with tidal flooding up to 3 months out of the year.  Hear what Monroe County is experiencing, as a preview of what many other communities in our state are facing.
